A Celebration of Academic Excellence

Recently the College celebrated excellence at the 2023 Academic Awards evening. Commencing with Prayer which invited young people to share their gifts to be the eyes, hands and feet of Christ, proud parents and special guests applauded students for their high achievement in their school work and in living out our college mission to live life in all its fullness.

Year 12 students Alvin Alex Matthew, Ulaani Bellette and Holly Blunt were awarded the top prize of ‘Excellence in Year 12 Studies’ while Elizabeth Thomson, Jace Harmsworth, Honey Ward, Oscar Tranberg and Lucy Matthews were awarded the Excellence Award in Year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 Studies respectively.

Chloe Wieland, Will Bendall, Kayla Vella and Moses Lomongo were awarded the Helen Hatte Memorial Prizes for Fullness of Life and Patrick Dever and Sally Vagg collected the Champion House Trophy on behalf of Quinn House. Bishop Michael McCarthy, Diocesan Director Miss Leesa Jeffcoat and Principal Mr Rob Alexander offered guiding words of congratulations and also thanked and honoured Deputy Principal Mrs Claire Stitt who will retire at the end of the year after teaching at the college for the past 25 years.

The college also welcomed special guest speaker and past student Curtis Duff from the Senior Class of 2013 who inspired us with his words to find opportunity in every experience, a lesson he remembered from his school days. Curtis who is a Physiotherapist shared his story of helping a client rehabilitate from severe injuries caused by a high speed car accident and how together they have both grown and flourished. You can watch his full speech in the livestream on the website.

Our award winning College Jazz Band lifted the roof with their performance of Michael Buble’s “Feeling Good”.
