Industrial Technology & Design

The Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) program at The Cathedral College provides the context for students to develop a unique repertoire of knowledge, practical skills and attitudes consistent with technical and industrial careers in our community.

All students in Year 7 & 8 are provided with an introduction to Industrial Technology & Design through the application of the design process in the Materials & Technologies context in Year 7 and the Engineering Principles & Systems context in Year 8.  This program then continues in Year 9 where students can elect to study Industrial Technology & Design (ITD) and/or Graphics & Design.

In the Senior School, students have the opportunity to further develop their manufacturing and design skills through the Applied Subjects of Furnishing Skills, Engineering Skills and Industrial Graphics Skills.  The subject Design is offered as a General Subject.
