Work Experience

If your student has not yet organised to their Work experience placement they will now have to complete it during the times listed below.  Their placement will need to be organised with an Employer within their industry of choice and the completed Work Experience Agreement form returned to the school ASAP.

Health and Engineering Work Experience Placements:  For those looking for Health Industry placements there are some still available 1 -3 October, 2019 at the Mater Hospital. Also, CQU have confirmed 30 September – 4 October, 2019 as the TCC work experience placement week.

PLEASE NOTE: We have received notification that the WHITE CARD in no longer available via online courses.  I am sorry that we were given no prior notification of this change.   If your student is attending a construction site for their work experience they will need a white card.

New Horizons RTO in Rockhampton hold regular half day White Card courses.  Their website contains information on when these are held and the costs involved.


School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Certificate IlI in Sport and Recreation: Leisure Employment Australia is now accepting applications for the 2019/2020 School Based Traineeship program at the following QLD centres:

  •  Rockhampton Aquatic Centre
  •  Gladstone Aquatic Centre
  •  Yeppoon Lagoon

Leisure Employment Australia currently runs the largest Sport and Recreation School-based traineeship program in QLD. Our traineeships offer students an alternate pathway into a career that they are passionate about and the program is designed around the interests of year 11 to year 12 students who are eager to begin their career pathway in the sport and recreation industry.

All  of our trainees, will be trained across many departments such as lifeguarding, swim teaching, cafe assistant, receptionist and more.

As well as working, students will study towards gaining a Certificate IlI in Sport and Recreation.

NRG Apprenticeship Intake 2020, Gladstone: NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS) is currently seeking to appoint the following apprenticeship career opportunities to commence in January 2020:

  • Engineering Mechanical Tradesperson (Maintenance - Fitting and/or Turning)
