Industrial Technology & Design

The Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) program at The Cathedral College provides the context for students to develop a unique repertoire of knowledge, practical skills and attitudes consistent with technical and industrial careers in our community.

All students in Year 7 & 8 are provided with an introduction to Design and Technologies through the application of the Design Process in the Materials & Technology area in Year 7 and the Engineering Principles & Systems area in Year 8.

Year 9 &10 students can select electives which provide an opportunity to extend and specialise in the use of wood and metal materials, Graphics and Design.

In the Senior School, students have the opportunity to further develop their manufacturing work skills through the Furnishing Studies, Engineering Studies and Industrial Graphics subjects or select the Authority subjects of Senior Graphics and Technology Studies.

The Cathedral College provides an extensive range of tools, equipment and up to date facilities to support the programs run in each year level. The College is committed to the ongoing improvement of workshop resources and attempts to reflect industry standards wherever possible.
