Industrial Technology & Design

The Industrial Technology and Design (ITD) program at The Cathedral College provides the context for students to develop a unique repertoire of knowledge, practical skills and attitudes consistent with technical and industrial careers in our community.

All students in Year 7 & 8 are provided with an introduction to Industrial Technology & Design through the application of the design process in the Materials & Technologies context in Year 7 and the Engineering Principles & Systems context in Year 8.

Year 9 &10 students can select electives which provide an opportunity to extend and specialise in a range of technology contexts.  Electives include: Year 9 Graphics & Design, Year 9 Industrial Technology & Design, Year 10 Graphics & Design, Year 10 Materials & Industrial Technologies, Year 10 Engineering Principles & Systems.  

In the Senior School, students have the opportunity to further develop their manufacturing and design skills through the Applied Subjects of Furnishing Skills, Engineering Skills and Industrial Graphics Skills.  Design is offered as a General Subject.
