Culture & Sport

Sport

The Cathedral College is proud of its sporting history and culture. The College’s expectations of its sportsmen and sportswomen are extremely high. It is for this reason that the College is held in very high esteem within the sporting arena.

The College offers and supports a wide variety of sport. All students are encouraged to become involved in sport and to develop their talents and abilities to their fullest.

The Cathedral College is a member of the Rockhampton District School Sport (RDSS) management committee. Opportunities are provided for students to participate in a number of sports and activities and they are encouraged to nominate and participate in Rockhampton District trials in their chosen sport. Success at this level opens new avenues for students to trial at a regional, state and/or Australian level.

TCC participates in a number of interschool sporting competitions including AFL, athletics, basketball, cricket, cross country, football, netball, rowing, rugby league, rugby union, swimming, tennis, touch football, volleyball and water polo.

Each June/July holidays we participate in the Confraternity Rugby League and the QISS Netball Carnivals which involve over forty Colleges from all over Queensland. These afford students an excellent experience of teamwork and camaraderie.
