The Cathedral College encourages and supports its students to become involved in a wide range of cultural activities beyond the formal hours of schooling. These activities give students added opportunity to use, develop and share their God-given talents.

The College offers a wide range of cultural activities in the Music, Performing and Visual Arts spheres.  Students are offered the opportunity to join the following groups: Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Stage Band, Jazz Ensemble, String Orchestra, String Ensembles, Guitar Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, College Choir, Vocal Ensembles including Men's Vocal Group and Contemporary Group, Drama Club and Opti-MINDS.  

The Instrumental and vocal students have the added opportunity to attend the annual College Music Camp, Diocesan Music Camp and the Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival in Brisbane.  In addition to the above, the students are afforded performance opportunities at College Music Evenings and Assemblies and at the local Eisteddfod.

Group and private instrumental and vocal lessons are availabe to students through the ever-growing Instrumental Music Program.  

Public Speaking opportunities include the College Oratory Contest for each year level and Interschool public speaking contests: Rostrum Voice of Youth, Lions Youth of the Year and Order of Australia. Year 12 Cultural Committee members assist in the organising of events and are given many MC opportunities.  

Entertainment by visiting drama, instrumental and vocal groups offers an added dimension to the existing programs. Art students are given the opportunity to display their creative talents at the College Art Exhibition and on various similar occasions.  Outstanding art students are invited to exhibit their work in the Creative Generations Excellence Awards in Visual Art.  

Many students become involved in an annual College Production.  Over the past few years this production has taken the form of a Theatre Restaurant, a Musical and Stage Plays.

Every student takes part in the yearly House Choir Competition and House points are allotted to students who show consistent commitment to their chosen activity/activities.

By participating in cultural activities at The Cathedral College, the students are embracing the College Motto “Come, live life in all its fullness”.
