Cultural News

Congratulations and thank you to the students and staff in the Music Ministry Group for leading the congregation in song at the TCC/Parish Mass on Saturday evening. The Psalm was prayerfully sung by Sophie Neill accompanied by Grace Crow.

The Catholic Education Music Camp will commence next Tuesday afternoon.  Over one hundred students from Marist College, Emerald, Mercy College Mackay, Shalom College, Bundaberg, St Brendan’s College, Yeppoon and locally Emmaus College and TCC will gather for two and a half days of music making. The camp will culminate in a concert on Thursday evening commencing at 6pm in the Mercy Centre. There will be no BBQ prior to the concert.  Booking is not necessary but a gold coin donation would be appreciated. Registration is still open via this link.

During the camp all meals (except morning and afternoon tea) will be catered for by the catering staff at the Boys’ Residential. I sincerely thank Mr Grant Ewings and his staff for catering for the camp. Cultural Support parents will only be required to serve pizza to the students on Thursday on the deck behind the Mercy Centre at 5pm prior to the concert.

St Joseph’s Cathedral is the venue for a Chamber Concert presented by string and piano students from TCC, St Joseph’s, St Paul’s and St Peter’s this Sunday 23 June commencing at 2pm.

Congratulations to the students who competed in the Capricornia Region CBCA Reader’s Cup last week. In the Year 7/8 competition Angelina Brown, Cadyn Elkins, Reanne Gillies, Ally Seaman and Isabella Nothdurft were placed second.  Another group of Year 7/8 students, Bethanie Green, Jake Olive, Georgia Ralphs and Taylah Shepherd were great representatives for the College.

Kaylee Boyce, Ryan Cowie, Nicola Hutchinson and Christina Tungate were the inaugural winners of the Year 9/10 competition. A second Year 9/10 team consisting of Zye Connolly, Madison Hilker, Georgia Horspool and Imea Thomas were great ambassadors for the College.  Thank you to Mrs Wolfenden and Mrs Cavanagh who coached and supported the students.

Term two has been an incredibly busy one. Thank you to all who have contributed to its success.
