Faith in Action

As St James says “Faith without works is dead” (James 2: 17). Faith at The Cathedral College is very much alive as evidenced by the involvement of students in:

  • ATEAM (Adolescent Teams Establishing Advocacy and Morality) which incorporates St Vinnies & ACRATH (Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking of Humans)
  • TCC's annual Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp where staff and students give generously of their time at the beginning of the December holidays to provide respite for parents/care givers of children with disabilities.

Outreach to the community takes the form of donations to Caritas Australia’s Lenten Appeal, Project Compassion (co-ordinated by Glover House), the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Appeal (co-ordinated by Wallace House), the ministries of the Sisters of Mercy (co-ordinated by McAuley and Ryan Houses) and the Christian Brothers (co-ordinated by Quinn and Rice Houses) as well as donations of time and money to other appeals during the year.

The College community is actively supporting the St Joseph’s Cathedral Conservation Appeal due to the significant place the Cathedral has had and continues to have in the life of our College. Donations to this worthwhile appeal can be made at: http://www.cathedralappeal.org.au
